Healing Through Writing: Decolonize Your Thinking: Healing Through the Ways of Our Ancestors

This workshop explores healing through the wisdom of our ancestors i.e. ancestral elements, food, and ancestral veneration. Drawing from Fawn’s book, participants will learn from Fawn’s personal journey of living with a chronic illness (endometriosis) and her ongoing practice of using African spirituality for healing.

During the workshop, attendees will create a family group record and practice ancestral veneration by making a memorial wall that reflects on their own ancestors. Topics covered include the spiritual side of womb wellness, the conditioning of Black women to be “superheroes,” unlearning, and healing through African spirituality.

Date: August 22nd 2026 @ 7 PM EST
