Opportunities to Join the Spoken Black Girl Team

Internship Program

Spoken Black Girl Publishing offers the following internship opportunities. Spoken Black Girl internships require 5 hours a week. Interns work remotely for a 3 month period of time. Internships are unpaid, but every intern will receive mentorship from the founder to prepare them for a career in publishing. Interns get free entry to writing workshops and school credit is available.

Editorial Intern:

Editorial interns will learn the process of publishing online and in print. Duties may include writing and editing articles, maintaining the editorial calendar, and some correspondence with writers.

Marketing Intern:

The Marketing intern will be in charge of writing newsletters, learning Convertkit, curating and scheduling social media content.

Events Intern:

Spoken Black Girl is known for our awesome in person and online events! Now due to COVID19, all of our events will be digital. The events intern will be involved in; reaching out to guests, scheduling speakers and workshop leaders, building event pages on Eventbrite, attending events and workshops, corresponding with attendees, and writing event sponsorship letters.
