I remember when I discovered that I was vision impaired. I was in elementary school and I took that test with the spoon over your eye and the chart with big and small letters. I knew my letters well enough, but some of the details were… fuzzy. And just like that, I found myself wearing my first pair of glasses. At the time, glasses had a connotation of being “nerdy”. I remember feeling, by the time I was a teenager, that I wanted contact lenses so I could appear cool and beautiful. Gradually I began to learn that I was cool and beautiful with or without my glasses, and rather than being a hindrance to my appearance, glasses could actually be an asset.

Glasses can make a statement about your personality. I started finding frames that fit my face and look good on me. I have always been one for trying a new style, so over the years I’ve gone through various, shapes, colors, and styles of eyeglasses.

I didn’t know what to expect when I got the GlassesUSA.com glasses, but when I first opened the box, I was really taken by how beautiful they were. I got the Ottoto Melany frames, which are in my favorite circular shape. I have a high prescription, so I sometimes worry about the lenses being too thick, but the frames disguised this perfectly while still looking chic and fun. Most importantly, my vision is amazing in these glasses! I have hardly taken them off since I received them and I’ve been getting a ton of compliments. Check out the collection!
